  • This position is based inside an Army Correctional (prison) environment. This position will go through a paid physical conditioning course (low to medium difficulty, takes place inside a gym) before starting. 75% of inmates are ex-military sexual offenders. The remaining 25% are ex-military and other types of offenders.
  • The position is responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining effective treatment and rehabilitation for long-term inmates. Highly specialized and unique treatment programs include but are not limited to: Violent Offender Treatment, Sexual Offender Treatment, Substance Abuse, and general mental health.
  • 5-9 patients per day case load.
  • Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, the American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.
  • Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
  • Assist in the rehabilitation of patients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D or Psy.D) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program
  • Internship: must have completed an APA-approved internship. No exceptions.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a licensed clinical psychologist
  • Certification: BLS required
  • License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice Psychology in any state
  • Security Clearance: Must have a clear background to pass the security clearance
  • Candidates must have their own Corporation or LLC to work under this service agreement.
  • Malpractice is covered; candidates do not need to carry their own malpractice insurance to provide services for this role.
  • Familiarity with the organization structure and operation methods of the Air Force is preferred but not required.
