Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a robust background in supporting government projects and performing structural and mechanical calculations. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to draft and create high-level 3D CAD models and manufacturing-level prints. This position offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment where innovation and precision are key.

Responsibilities

  • Support government projects with expert engineering knowledge.
  • Perform structural and mechanical calculations including wind load, dead loads, live loads, and lifting.
  • Draft and draw high-level 3D CAD models and create manufacturing-level prints.
  • Conduct general wind, dead, seismic, and snow load calculations for live projects.
  • Detail concept models to transition them towards manufacturing-ready models and produce 2D prints if possible.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in performing structural and mechanical calculations.
  • Strong drafting skills in 3D CAD.
  • Experience in applying structural design codes and detailing complex steel fabrications.
  • Familiarity with acoustic and noise control principles.
  • Practical experience in hazard identification and risk reduction design techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor.
  • Familiarity with ATEX (or IECEx) requirements, API 616.
  • Knowledge of IBC, ASCE-7, and AWS D1.1.
  • Competency in flow and temperature calculations for ducted systems.
  • 1-3 years of experience, or equivalent strong internship experience.
