Pay Details:

Engineer III - (Grade 58)

Minimum:$1,618.87/ week

Midpoint: $2,023.60

Engineer IV - (Grade 59)

Minimum:$1,851.10/ week

Midpoint: $2,313.86

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm


Job Description: PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Engineer III or IV - Natural Gas & Water

City Utilities isseekingan experienced and motivated engineer to support the planning, design, construction, and operation of critical utility infrastructure.Whether you are an established engineer looking to expand your technicalexpertiseor a seasoned professional ready to lead major projects and mentor others, this position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact while working alongside a collaborative and dedicated team.

What You'll Do

Depending on qualifications and experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Planning, designing, and supporting natural gas and water distribution infrastructure projects.
  • Preparing engineering studies, technical analyses, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Supporting construction, operations, maintenance, and system improvement initiatives.
  • Managing capital improvement projects, including scope, budget, schedule, and contractor coordination.
  • Developing, reviewing, and approving engineering drawings and project documentation.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD and other engineering software to support project development and execution.
  • Collaborating with operations personnel, contractors, consultants, developers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Providingtechnical guidance, mentoring, and leadership toengineering staff.

WhatWe'reLooking For:

Engineer III

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline(ABET accredited required).
  • Minimum4years of applicablenatural gas or waterengineering design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licenserequired.

Engineer IV

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline(ABET accredited required).
  • Minimum8years ofnatural gas or waterengineeringdesignexperience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licenserequired.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.

PreferredSkills

  • Experience with natural gas distribution and transmission system design.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations applicable to the natural gas industry.
  • Experience managing complex infrastructure or capital improvement projects.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interestin mentoring, technical leadership, and professional development of others.
