Job description

  • Provide strategic leadership, executive oversight, and operational direction for Northern New Jersey installation and maintenance activities within Fiber Engineering & Operations
  • Lead a large, multi-tiered field operations organization serving Consumer, Business, Wholesale, and Enterprise customers
  • Oversee installation and maintenance of FiOS, High-Speed Internet, Special Services, POTS, and Customer Premise Equipment
  • Direct preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize network uptime and minimize mean-time-to-repair
  • Enforce SLA compliance and establish quality-control frameworks, standardized workflows, and operational metrics
  • Improve first-time resolution rates, reduce repeat trouble reports, and elevate customer experience
  • Define and execute long-term market-wide I&M service-delivery strategy
  • Lead, mentor, engage, and develop field operations talent while cultivating collaborative union partnerships
  • Build, forecast, and manage multi-million-dollar annual operational and CapEx budgets
  • Drive cost efficiencies, optimize truck-roll productivity, and oversee fleet and equipment resources
  • Cultivate a safety-first culture across customer premises and field environments
  • Champion AI-driven workflows, automation, and other technology solutions to improve workforce efficiency
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications operations
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of large-footprint carrier networks and systems
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Verizon infrastructure and Fiber Engineering & Operations footprint systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of FE&O field operations and cross-organizational coordination for network installation, testing, and maintenance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive hands-on experience with installation, testing, and repair in outside-plant telecommunications environments
  • Deep knowledge of FiOS, underground/aerial fiber design, copper/POTS infrastructure, optical distribution networks, and high-speed internet
  • Wireless experience is a plus
  • 7+ years of relevant supervisory experience managing multi-tiered leadership teams
  • Proven experience leading large field and engineering teams in heavily unionized environments
  • Demonstrated success handling complex labor relations, union grievance processes, direct work with union officials, and interpretation of collective bargaining policies
  • Advanced knowledge of cost estimating, budget preparation, and schedule performance for major CapEx/OpEx projects
  • Strong analytical and critical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize complex data, build strategic recommendations, and manage competing priorities
  • Must work within the Northern New Jersey territory
