Overview:

The Internet Sales Manager oversees the dealership's Internet department, ensuring consistent communication with potential customers and effective lead management. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all internet, phone, and third-party leads (e.g., AutoTrader, Cars.com, CarGurus) are contacted within dealership response-time standards
  • Monitor and optimize lead response times, contact rates, appointment-set rates, and show rates
  • Oversee CRM usage (e.g., VinSolutions) to ensure accurate data entry, timely follow-up, and proper lead source tracking
  • Develop and manage outbound campaigns for sales and service (equity mining, conquest, loyalty, and service-to-sales)
  • Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs to dealership leadership
  • Partner with the Sales and Service Managers to align  efforts with inventory, promotions, and monthly goals
  • Handle escalated customer inquiries and ensure a high standard of customer service
  • Manage scripts, call flows, and objection-handling processes; update as needed based on performance data
  • Stay current on digital marketing, chat, and texting platforms that feed the BDC
  • Other tasks as needed to assist the Sales team 

Requirements

  Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of experience in a dealership, internet sales, or call center leadership role
  • Proven track record of hitting appointment-set and show-rate targets
  • Strong working knowledge of dealership CRM and lead management tools
  • Excellent phone presence, coaching ability, and team leadership skills
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze reports and adjust strategy
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Automotive sales or service background preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
