Job description

Description


As a Sales Associate you will be the face of Many Hands to customers in our thrift stores. We need you to help by assisting our customers with their purchases and, through caring interactions, support our local and international missions. Join our team to make a difference to those in need!ย 


What you'll do

  • Greet and interact with customers
  • Answers customer's questions about merchandise
  • Collect payment using the store point of sale system
  • Assist customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information
  • Bag, box, and wrap purchased items
  • Ensure accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of the shift
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Reports to Store Manager


Requirements

What you bring

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers and calculators
  • Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system
  • Ability to positively represent the ministry of Many Hands, including its mission, vision, and core values to all outside constituencies

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space
