Job Description

International Protective Service, Inc., an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring an Armed Security Officer. The Armed Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our Armed Security Officers allow us to accomplish our company’s core purpose which is “to service, secure and care for the people and businesses in our communities.” Armed Security Officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.

  • Pays $24.00 Per Hour
  • Armed Officer
  • This role requires an active level three (3) state armed security guard license and prior law enforcement, military, OR security experience. Military and Veterans are Encouraged to Apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high quality armed security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information
  • Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information
  • Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
  • Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.
  • Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information
  • Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
  • Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Active State Armed Security Level Three Guard License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current driver’s license if driving a company or customer owned vehicle
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, the following:
    • Level Three New Mexico Guard Card
  • Minimum of 21 years of age, or higher as required by applicable law or contractual requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports; able to effectively convey information to the public, client representatives, and fellow employees
  • Problem solving skills; able to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail; able to compile, sort, and interpret data
  • Active listening skills; able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
  • Able to complete all range qualifications and functions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice or protective service related field
  • Law enforcement experience
  • Military experience
  • Six (6) or more Months of experience as an armed security professional
