Department Information
The School of Government and International Affairs prepares students to be engaged citizens and high-performing professionals with the skills and knowledge to address vital local, regional, national, and international challenges through relevant curricula with experiential learning, community involvement, and global engagement. Through our various undergraduate and graduate programs and outreach activities, the faculty and students work together to engage in independent scholarship and professional development in areas such as domestic and international politics and public administration.
With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,100 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences is dedicated to pioneering workforce readiness in the humanities and social sciences. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the School of Government & International Affairs for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
  • Teaching introductory political science classes, like POLS 1101 "Introduction to American Government" or POLS 2401 "Global Issues"
  • Teaching upper-level or graduate political science or public administration courses as needed

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
To teach undergraduate courses:
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

To teach graduate courses:
  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or Public Administration or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • An earned doctoral degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related field
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
