Overview

Foreign Media Analyst (DTRA PAO)

Bowhead is seeking a Foreign Media Analyst and Video Review Support specialist for the upcoming DTRA PAO contract in Fort Belvoir, VA. In this role, you will monitor and analyze foreign and domestic media to track how U.S. policies and defense programs are portrayed, with a prioritized focus on nuclear, chemical, biological, and CBRN deterrence narratives

Responsibilities
  • Monitor international and domestic television broadcasts, online video platforms, and social media channels affiliated with international media outlets (excluding personal social media accounts)
  • Track, analyze, and evaluate how foreign and U.S. domestic entities depict U.S. policies, cultural narratives, and military operations, prioritizing nuclear, chemical, biodefense, and CBRN warfare topics
  • Analyze, translate, and transcribe audio-visual content to identify foreign narratives, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns
  • Draft and deliver comprehensive media reports, briefings, and summaries on how U.S. defense programs and forces are depicted in media
  • Perform narrative and sentiment analysis to identify public perception trends and information gaps regarding U.S. biosecurity initiatives
  • Distribute daily Pentagon morning news clips to the DTRA workforce
  • Compile and distribute WMD/CBRNe news clips every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  • Track and consolidate ad-hoc data calls and Requests for Information (RFIs); maintain a secure digital archive of media summaries and reports
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in International Relations, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or related field
  • 5โ€“10 years experience analyzing foreign media, geopolitical narratives, or information operations
  • Proficiency in translation, transcription, and narrative assessment
  • Ability to identify propaganda, disinformation, and influence campaigns
  • Experience preparing strategic media reports for defense or government stakeholders
  • Strong writing and briefing skills
  • Familiarity with global media ecosystems and international broadcast trends
  • Strong understanding of nuclear, chemical, biological, and CBRN deterrence topics preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Target salary is $115,000- $140,000 commensurate with experience
