This role often requires proficiency in Java programming, familiarity with international coding standards, and experience with distributed or remote teamwork. Responsibilities may include designing, developing, and maintaining applications that support multiple languages, currencies, or legal requirements. Strong communication skills and adaptability are essential for working in diverse cultural and technical environments.

What are some common challenges faced by International Java Developers working with global teams?

International Java Developers often encounter challenges such as coordinating across different time zones, managing language or cultural differences, and aligning coding standards or development processes among distributed teams. Staying organized, being proactive in communication, and leveraging collaboration tools like Slack, Jira, or Confluence can help mitigate these issues. Adapting to varying business requirements and local regulations is also key, as projects may involve clients or users from multiple countries. Embracing these challenges can significantly expand your professional skills and make you a more versatile developer.

Are Java devs still in demand?

Skills in frameworks like Spring and experience with cloud platforms enhance job prospects, and Java continues to be a core technology in many organizations' tech stacks.

Which country is best for Java developers?

The best countries for Java developers typically offer high demand for software development skills, competitive salaries, and strong tech industries. Countries like the United States, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom are known for their robust tech sectors and opportunities for Java professionals, often requiring proficiency in frameworks like Spring and knowledge of cloud platforms. Is Java still useful in 2026?

As an International Java Developer, Java remains a widely used programming language for enterprise applications, Android development, and backend systems in 2026. Its extensive ecosystem, strong community support, and ongoing updates ensure its relevance, especially when combined with frameworks like Spring and tools such as Maven or Gradle.

Your Next Challenge at Techso

Are you looking to go beyond execution and truly contribute to the technical decisions behind a project?

Techso is looking for a Senior Full Stack Java Developer to help design and develop digital solutions used by leading clients in Montreal and internationally.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor less experienced developers, and help improve our development practices.

Who We Are

Founded in Montreal in 2014, Techso helps organizations accelerate their digital transformation through three areas of expertise:

  • IT Infrastructure Management;
  • Custom Application Development;
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).

Our team works with recognized clients across various industries, including aerospace, automotive, finance, events, and watchmaking.

At Techso, we value the quality of our projects and relationships over volume. Our core values—Fun, Trust, Efficiency, and Quality—guide both the way we work with our clients and how we collaborate as colleagues.

What You'll Do

Depending on the projects assigned to you, you will:

  • Design and develop new applications;
  • Enhance existing solutions by adding new features and resolving issues;
  • Analyze client requirements and contribute to solution architecture;
  • Prepare technical and functional specifications;
  • Estimate the effort required to deliver projects;
  • Participate in production deployments and support change management activities;
  • Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and development best practices;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Agile practices, continuous integration, and automated deployment processes;
  • Participate in pre-sales activities, including effort estimation and the evaluation of new technologies;
  • Share your expertise and mentor junior team members;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary Agile Scrum teams.
The Profile We're Looking For

You have:

  • A's bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field;
  • At least six years of experience in Java development;
  • Strong expertise in object-oriented Java development and Spring Boot;
  • Solid experience in front-end development using React, Angular, or Vue.js;
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and tools such as Hibernate;
  • A good understanding of DevOps practices and continuous integration and deployment environments;
  • Experience working in an Agile and collaborative environment;
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows environments;
  • The ability to communicate professionally in both French and English, as you will collaborate with colleagues and clients located in Quebec, across Canada, and internationally;
  • Strong teamwork skills, autonomy, and a genuine desire to actively contribute to the solutions delivered.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Azure DevOps;
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases;
  • Experience with ETL processes;
  • Knowledge of other technologies such as Node.js, Python, C#, PHP, or other complementary programming languages;
  • Experience in solution architecture, mentoring, or technical pre-sales.

You don't need to master every one of these technologies. Above all, we're looking for an experienced, curious professional who can adapt to the realities of a wide variety of projects.

What Techso Offers
  • Challenging and diverse projects with recognized clients across Canada.
  • A flexible hybrid work model adapted to project and client needs.
  • Bright offices in the heart of Old Montreal, featuring a rooftop terrace.
  • Complimentary breakfast, snacks, and coffee available at the office.
  • A vibrant social and sports club, fully sponsored by Techso.
  • International mobility opportunities through our consultant mobility program.
  • The opportunity to contribute beyond client projects by participating in internal initiatives that help shape the company's future.
  • A collaborative community of experts that encourages knowledge sharing and professional development.
  • Comprehensive private group insurance tailored to your needs.
  • A culture built on Fun, Trust, Efficiency, and Quality.
