Job description

Tech Talent International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US and Europe.

We currently have a role as a Senior Fullstack Java Developer with our large consulting client for a major banking services client in the downtown Montreal area. This role can either be a permanent role or a long term contract.

Role: Senior Fullstack Java Developer

Type: Permanent 37.5 hrs/week

Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)

Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 + 9% bonus + 3-6 weeks paid vacation + RRSP contribution + benefits + sick/personal day + cell phone allowance + discounts for public transit and may other perks

Contract: $90-$105/hr C2C

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications on the Java platform using Spring Boot and Angular/React.
  • Participate in system design and architecture discussions for multi-tiered enterprise applications.
  • Develop, deploy, and support RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services.
    Collaborate closely with Trading business users and IT stakeholders in a global environment.
  • Contribute to containerized application deployments using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Work with MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases to design and optimize data solutions.
  • Apply software engineering best practices including design patterns, unit testing, source control, and continuous integration.
  • Participate in Agile development ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure applications meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements in a high-pressure financial environment.

Profile


Mandatory

Minimum 5 years of software development experience within an investment banking or financial services environment.
Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
Experience with Angular and/or React.
Experience developing and deploying RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services.
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture.
Knowledge of MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
Experience with Git, unit testing, and continuous integration tools.
Strong understanding of programming design patterns, including MVVM.
Knowledge of multi-threading and modern multi-tier application architectures.
Experience collaborating with Trading business users and IT stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, rigorous, and able to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Good understanding of Agile development methodologies.


Nice to Have

Experience with Python.
Additional experience working on front-office or trading-related applications.
Exposure to cloud-native architectures and microservices environments.
