International HSE Partner

We are looking for an experienced Health & Work Environment professional to join our Scandinavian team and help supporting health and work environment practices in Norway and our international operations.

Challenges you will work on:

As our International Health & Work Environment Partner, you will be responsible for supporting our leaders in relation to international and Norwegian work environment management, ensuring compliance within the departments you will be supporting.

Examples of operational tasks:
  • Supporting leaders in ensuring compliance with health and work environment legislation.
  • Participating in work environment meetings and contributing to the systematic work environment efforts.
  • Facilitating risk assessments.
  • Analyzing work-related injuries to work preventively.
  • Training new colleagues in health and work environment matters.
  • Providing support during work environment inspections from work environment authorities.
  • Offering advice and sparring to leaders, work environment organizations, and People & Culture partners.
Examples of strategic tasks:
  • Shaping procedures that enable strategic and cross-functional collaboration across work environment organizations in the Nordic countries.
  • Initiating and driving local projects.
  • Collaborating with the team to develop policies and training materials.
  • Implementing and communicating new HWE policies and practical tools for leaders.

You will be a part of our Scandinavian Health and Work Environment team, composed of passionate colleagues with various professional backgrounds.
In our team, we set the overall strategic framework for health and work environment at SAS, while also supporting leaders and work environment organizations in their daily responsibilities.

To succeed as our International Health & Work Environment Partner, you need to be curious and collaborative. Our work spans many functions and relies on close cooperation with leaders, People & Culture partners, Work Environment Representatives, Legal, and external partners. Strong interpersonal skills, openness to different perspectives, and the ability to integrate input from stakeholders are key.

Legislation is at the core of our work. You must have knowledge of Norwegian work environment regulations and preferably with International work environment and be able to translate it into clear initiatives and guidance for stakeholders. We need a colleague who can explain requirements with clarity, build understanding, and find constructive solutions, supported by experience with physical and psychological work environment.

On the more practical side, we are looking for a colleague who:
  • Has solid experience working within the Norwegian health and work environment field, including advising leaders and supporting compliance with work environment legislation. Experience from an international organization and/or with international work environment management is an advantage.
  • Has experience facilitating risk assessments, supporting systematic work environment management, and driving improvement initiatives related to both the physical and psychosocial work environment.
  • Hold a relevant educational background, for example a university degree within health and safety, occupational psychology, HR, or organizational development.
  • Is fluent in Norwegian (as you will be working with Norwegian legislation) and English.

Additional information
  • Deadline for application: 15th of September 2026.
  • We expect to hold the first interviews on 17th and 18th of September on Teams.
  • Desired start date: as soon as possible or 1st of January 2027.
  • Position: Full-time (100%), starting with a 6-month probation period.
  • This position is primarily based at our office at Gardermoen Airport with occasional working visits to the UK and the rest of the Nordic countries for team gatherings.
  • You will be expected to work onsite, with the possibility of up to two days working from home.
  • To be eligible for this position you need an EU work permit.
  • A background check will be conducted at the final stage of this recruitment process, as this role is security classified.
