Job description

Quick job details: This position is for a physician to join our Internal Medicine Residency Program as a Core Faculty member. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to medical education, clinical excellence, and scholarly activities. This role involves teaching, mentoring, and supervising residents, as well as providing high-quality patient care.

  • Setting: Inpatient setting and academic responsibilities (resident and student teaching, supervision, and evaluation).
  • Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Hours: Full-time position (FTE 1.0) 12 hour shifts.
  • Patient Volume: Varies depending on inpatient census with residents assisting in management.
  • Job Requirements: Active Alabama medical license (or eligibility to obtain). MD or DO degree (ECFMG certification required if international graduate). Completion of ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency. Board certification in Internal Medicine (ABMS) required. Must demonstrate commitment to education, professionalism, and patient safety. Must participate in committees (Clinical Competency, Program Evaluation, etc.) and complete faculty development annually. Strong teaching, mentoring, and documentation skills.
  • Compensation: Competitive, base salary commensurate with academic experience and clinical load.
