Job description

Job Summary:
Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe. They are seeking an Expert Systems Engineer to provide high-level technical leadership in support of complex geospatial intelligence systems across various national and allied partners.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Government in systems engineering efforts across large-scale GEOINT mission environments
• Translate mission needs into technical requirements and system capabilities
• Evaluate and improve system architectures, workflows, and cloud-based services
• Provide technical recommendations on solution designs and emerging technologies
• Perform requirements analysis, traceability, and allocation to architecture components
• Support systems integration, verification, validation, and performance engineering activities
• Lead or support:
• Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)
• Course of Action (COA) development
• Trade studies
• Engineering assessments
• Contribute to strategic planning, risk management, interface design, and project execution
• Provide expert guidance on aligning mission vision, strategy, and technical capabilities
• Coordinate engineering efforts across organizational and agency boundaries
• Mentor and oversee junior and senior systems engineering staff
• Apply knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments
Qualifications:
Required:
• Master's degree in: Systems Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or another related STEM field
• Equivalent expert-level, 18+ years' of systems engineering experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements
• 18+ years' experience supporting Government or industry in one or more of the following: DoD/IC Acquisition Processes, Requirements development, PPBES, Large-scale System of Systems environments, Cloud-based enterprise architectures
• Strong understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycle
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly
Preferred:
• Doctorate in a related technical discipline
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
• Software Development Framework certification
• International Council on Systems Engineering Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Active participation in professional organizations such as: United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation, Open Geospatial Consortium, American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing
• Extensive experience in geospatial intelligence
• Experience designing solutions using: Cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), Big Data platforms, Automation and AI/ML technologies
• Expertise in one or more of the following: Photogrammetry, Remote sensing, Image science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Information science
