Job Summary:
Forterra is a leading provider of autonomous systems for ground-based movement. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their DevOps and Tooling team to collaborate with vehicle integration engineers and production teams, focusing on building robust internal tools.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข This role sits on the DevOps and Tooling team and works closely with vehicle integration engineers, production teams, and program lead.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
โ€ข Experience with Rust (1+ years) or strong systems programming background with willingness to learn Rust
โ€ข Experience with TypeScript and React (or similar frontend framework).
โ€ข Strong Linux experience, including:
โ€ข Command-line proficiency
โ€ข Systemd service management
โ€ข Networking fundamentals (SSH, TCP/IP)
โ€ข Experience with Docker (building images, container workflows).
โ€ข Experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent).
โ€ข Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python).
โ€ข Ability to debug issues across application, OS, and network layers
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with Tauri framework for desktop application development.
