Job description

Position Summary

The primary function of an Acoustical Architectural Specialties Sales Representative is to provide product knowledge, brand visibility, and solutions surrounding acoustical architectural specialty products. This person will work with the sales team to close work and drive sales that achieve and exceed business goals.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with customers.
  • Technical resource for the internal sales team and external customers in the field of acoustical architectural specialties products
  • Perform design consultation and assist with project budgeting
  • Uncovering new project opportunities.
  • Estimate and produce project pricing.
  • Develop product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.
  • Collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers; emphasize product/service features, quote prices.
  • Maintain customer accounts as necessary and complete sales administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, sales, and pricing.
  • Follow up timely on estimates, bids, and job tracking
  • Utilize technology to effectively service the customer needs and provide unique market solutions


Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; 4 year degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience
  • Ability to understand and read plans and specifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sales in the architectural specialties community
  • Prior experience with acoustical ceilings, wall panels, and/or other acoustical products

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 50% of the time. Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


Required Cognitive Skills

  • Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to receive and analyze information.
