Job description

Software Engineer, AI-Assisted Developer Tooling

Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

At Intelliforce, we build the tools behind the teams building the mission. In this role, you will improve how developers work by creating advanced tooling that reduces friction, raises code quality, and speeds delivery. You will work at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI, building capabilities that help developers move faster through smarter IDE experiences, better automation, and more effective engineering workflows.

What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out

This role gives you the chance to shape how software gets built, not only what gets built. You will design AI-assisted developer tooling, experiment with agentic and semi-autonomous systems, and integrate new capabilities into existing platforms and pipelines. The work is practical, forward-looking, and closely tied to measurable gains in developer speed, code quality, and workflow efficiency.

At Intelliforce, your work is visible and your ideas matter. Because we support prime programs, our teams stay close to meaningful mission work with real momentum. Because we are a small business, leadership is accessible, communication is direct, and strong engineering gets noticed. Add in long-term stability, strong benefits, and a people-first culture, and this becomes more than another software role. It is a chance to help shape the future of development in environments where speed and quality both matter.

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Could Include

• Design and implement AI-assisted IDE and developer tooling capabilities
• Integrate agent-based systems for repetitive developer tasks such as code reviews, unit test generation, and code quality analysis
• Experiment with autonomous and semi-autonomous agents to improve development workflows
• Integrate new tools into existing development platforms and pipelines
• Collaborate with customers and teammates to gather feedback and iterate quickly
• Measure and document the effectiveness of tooling improvements

Minimum Qualifications

Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph, must be active. We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas
• 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in place of a Bachelor’s degree

Required Skills

• Strong software engineering skills in one or more modern programming languages
• Experience with IDEs, developer tools, or build and test systems
• Hands-on experience with AI or LLM-powered developer tools, including chat-based interfaces or automated coding agents
• Ability to prototype, evaluate, and refine experimental tooling
• Solid understanding of software development workflows and best practices

Desired Skills

• Experience with automated code review or static analysis tools
• Knowledge of agentic AI frameworks or orchestration systems
• Experience working on developer platforms or internal engineering enablement teams
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience developing VS Code extensions using TypeScript or Electron

Compensation Range: $203,000.00 - $260,000.00
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
