Software Engineer (Associate, Mid Level or Lead)

The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineer (Associate, Mid Level or Lead) to join the Air Proprietary 2 team located inBerkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Air Dominance Air Proprietary Program 2 requires Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) Software Engineers. The DEE Software Engineering team is responsible for developing and maintaining tools, software pipelines, CI/CD solutions, and program-level metrics for the entire program. This team provides tools and solutions for several software and non-software development teams across the Mission Systems, Air Vehicle, Production, and Sustainment IPTs.

This position requires an engineer with experience in software development, either embedded or application software. Experience with multiple programming languages and familiarity with a variety of tools in the engineering development ecosystem are essential.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with partner IPTs to understand DEE requirements and documents them to ensure DEE capabilities are well-defined.

  • Designs and develops software tools and solutions as part of the broader program DEE. These include tool plug-ins, development and implementation of software delivery pipeline architectures, and general support of the program gateway.

  • Tests solutions prior to delivering them to the DEE, ensuring high-quality product delivery.

  • Triages defect requests related to DEE products and implements fixes based on priorities set by leadership

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Berkeley, MO.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start may be required)

  • This position requires ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2+ years of experience in Software Development and Programming

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in software tool development in support of development team

  • Experience or familiarity with software containers and software orchestration (Kubernetes, etc.)

  • Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; and develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

  • Knowledge of engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, software engineering) applied to product-related systems (e.g., aircraft, avionics, propulsion, spacecraft, information/communication systems) throughout the product development lifecycle-from concept development to deployment

  • Familiarity with specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes

  • Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety
