Mars Snacking Project Engineering Internship Experience

As a Mars Snacking Project Engineering Intern, you will gain exposure to the following areas:

1. Project lead or team member for a continuous improvement and/or growth project in a Chocolate, Gum/Mints, Fruity Confections, or Salty factory (manage scope / schedule / budget). Examples include:

  • Lead a cross functional team for the design of a Food Processing improvement project.
  • Act as the project lead for the upgrade of an air handling system for M&M's.
  • Investigate sugar buildup in a key operations unit, identify the source, and create a plan to resolve.
  • Develop ways to reduce waste in packaging and processing systems for Pringles
  • Study and compile data to inform best design for new cooling tunnel installation.

2. Work with contractor groups to organize, plan, and execute demolition, installation and/or commissioning relevant to project scope.

3. Develop key competencies in Drives for Results, Action Oriented, and Builds Networks in preparation for a possible future career in Engineering at Mars.

What we're looking for:

  • Desired majors include: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Food Process Related Engineering majors
  • Eligible candidates will intern the summer prior to their final graduation date.
  • Open to students legally authorized to work in the U.S., without the need for current or future work status authorization or visa sponsorship for employment.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of drug & background screening.
  • Eligible candidates will be responsible for personal transportation to and from work site during duration of the internship program.
