Position Summary

The Programming/Booking Intern at Moody Center will work alongside professionals in the live entertainment, sports, and venue management industry at a top arena. The Programming/Booking Intern will support the day-to-day efforts of the Programming team by contributing to event research, industry engagement, and onsite hospitality. This role offers hands-on experience in live event programming with opportunities to assist in both internal planning and day-of-show hosting. 

This role pays an hourly rate of $13.00

This role is expected to last from August 10, 2026, and will end on December 18, 2026.

This position will remain open until October 16, 2026.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Learn to research touring activity and event data, including market history, artist performance, and music release schedules, to support booking decisions.  
  • Assist the Programming team with industry hospitality by preparing gifting experiences and assembling personalized partner recognition items.  
  • Assist in research and conceptualization of creative event pitches. 
  • Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions for future event concepts and pitch materials. 
  • Practice professional written communication by helping draft event experience letters and outreach messages to promoters and partners. 
  • Shadow team members during show days to observe and assist with promoter hosting and backstage operations. 
  • Help maintain organization of programming documentation, contact lists, and project updates. 
  • Take initiative on tasks while actively seeking guidance when needed to ensure accuracy and professionalism. 
  • Perform additional learning opportunities and assignments that support the Programming team and event success. Other duties as assigned.

  • Interpret industry data and artist performance metrics to support event programming and booking strategy decisions. 
  • Participate in building creative event concepts by researching artists, trends, and unique promotional opportunities. 
  • Strengthen written communication skills by drafting event materials that support strong promoter and artist relationships. 
  • Build confidence navigating a live entertainment environment that requires responsiveness, professionalism, and relationship building. 
Qualifications
  • Interns must be currently enrolled as students at an accredited institution, which may include trade schools, community/junior colleges, or undergraduate or graduate programs
  • Background in music/live entertainment or demonstrated interest in the industry.  
  • Strong self-awareness, time management, and organizational skills with a proven ability to multitask and manage projects on strict deadlines. 
  • Understanding of music, pop culture, and entertainment.  
  • Positive attitude with a genuine interest in hosting and building professional relationships. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication with strong attention to detail and design. 
  • Strategic and critical thinker who is forward-thinking, analytical, and extremely well organized. 
  • Professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling sensitive event information. 
  • Strong organizational habits with the ability to prioritize tasks and seek clarification when needed.
