The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is searching for a Director of Security to join our team at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York. The Director of Security is responsible for overseeing all safety and security operations to ensure a safe environment for guests, employees, and assets. This role involves working closely with our surveillance teams, coordinating with law enforcement, and developing security protocols to prevent fraud, theft, and other criminal activities. The director leads a team of security personnel, ensuring they are well-trained, compliant with gaming regulations, and prepared to respond to emergencies. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and deep knowledge of regulatory requirements are essential for success in this position. Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $104,100 - $140,500 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?
  • Supervise all security team members across the operation
  • Ensure the safety of our team members, guests, and licensees by monitoring and correcting potential accidents or injuries
  • Adhere to and enforce rules and regulations of the state gaming commission.
  • Ensure emergency medical service (EMS) associates obtain the appropriate medical permits in line with state protocol
  • Follow company, local, state, and federal compliance in reference to hiring and mandatory training of all security team members
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop your team
  • Produce departmental budgets, policies, and procedures
  • Learn and maintain a working knowledge of the union contract as it pertains to the positions in the Security Department
  • Partner with the head of security for Delaware North regularly and when major security issues arise
  • Comply with confidentiality regulations regarding all surveillance and security information including camera coverage, investigations, and proprietary material
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints and issues
  • Demonstrates skill in dealing with customer complaints, using active listening skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the customer's goodwill
  • Responsible for the eviction of unruly patrons or associates as required
  • Effectively communicates by keeping staff advised of daily events, and all company and departmental change
  • Will be required to occassionally operate a company vehicle
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Minimum five years' related experience or law enforcement experience; at least two years of management experience required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a state gaming license
  • Intermediate computer skills with Windows platform, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, e-mail, and the Internet
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends
  • Must have knowledge of litigation and law enforcement procedures
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license
  • No degree required
Physical requirements
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally
  • Exposed to outdoor weather conditions in all seasons, including variable temperatures and wet and/or humid conditions
  • Noise level may be moderate-to-high
