What Will You Contribute?

As an AI Engineer Intern at Finastra, you will gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI technologies. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and AI specialists to help develop innovative solutions that enhance how users interact with information, systems, and data.

This internship provides an opportunity to learn modern AI development practices while contributing to real-world projects involving Large Language Models (LLMs), conversational AI, intelligent search, and cloud-based AI platforms. You'll develop valuable technical skills, gain exposure to enterprise software development, and build a strong foundation for a career in AI and machine learning.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

  • Support the development of AI-powered applications, including chatbots, virtual assistants, and knowledge-based solutions.

  • Assist in building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions that combine AI models with enterprise knowledge sources.

  • Help develop natural language interfaces and AI-powered tools that simplify access to data and information.

  • Participate in prompt engineering activities to improve AI model responses and user experiences.

  • Work with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar technologies under the guidance of senior team members.

  • Assist with testing, debugging, documentation, and performance improvements for AI applications.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and team collaboration sessions.

  • Use GitHub and software engineering best practices for version control and code collaboration.

  • Explore new AI technologies and contribute ideas to support innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Coursework, personal projects, academic research, or internship experience involving software development or AI technologies.

  • Basic programming experience in Python.

  • Foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI concepts.

  • Interest in Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.

  • Basic understanding of databases and data structures.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Eagerness to learn, experiment, and work in a collaborative team environment.
