Responsibilities
As an Executive Underwriter, you'll play a key role in driving profitable growth through the management and expansion of a commercial lines book of business. You'll partner closely with agents and brokers to identify opportunities, evaluate and structure risks, and deliver underwriting solutions that balance customer needs with company profitability objectives.
This role offers the opportunity to leverage your underwriting expertise, market knowledge, and relationship-building skills to influence business results while serving as a trusted resource within the branch. You'll work alongside underwriting leadership, agency partners, and colleagues across the organization to support growth initiatives, share best practices, and contribute to the continued success of the team.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Manage and grow a profitable commercial lines book of business while pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate risks and determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions in accordance with company guidelines and authority levels.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with agents and brokers to drive profitable growth and exceptional service.
  • Review new and renewal accounts by analyzing underwriting information, loss history, risk characteristics, and agency performance.
  • Collaborate with leadership on product development, pricing strategies, and coverage enhancements.
  • Support the development of underwriting talent by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and communicating line updates and best practices.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to cultivate agency relationships and support business development efforts.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and underwriting best practices through ongoing professional development and participation in industry and company-sponsored educational programs.

Qualifications
What You'll Bring
  • 7+ years of Commercial Lines underwriting and/or marketing experience
  • A track record of developing and managing a profitable book of business
  • Strong underwriting judgment and analytical skills
  • The ability to build credible, productive relationships with agents, brokers, and business partners
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Strong quantitative and financial analysis skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the development of underwriting professionals
