As a Tailwind CSS Intern, you’ll often assist in building and styling user interfaces for web applications, ensuring that designs are responsive and visually consistent across devices. You may be tasked with translating design mockups into clean, reusable Tailwind components, refactoring existing CSS code, or collaborating with developers to implement new features. Additionally, you might participate in code reviews and learn best practices for scalable, maintainable front-end development. This hands-on experience provides a solid foundation in both technical skills and teamwork within a front-end development environment.

Job description

The Company

Join Halo Industries and be part of a company that's transforming the semiconductor industry with our innovative laser technology. Founded in 2014 and supported by significant funding as of 2024, we're focused on creating efficient solutions that dramatically reduce waste and improve material performance across various sectors such as automotive, telecommunications, and power electronics.

The Opportunity

In the world of Silicon Carbide, process development moves at light speed. We are looking for a high-energy Computer Science or Software Engineering intern to build the interface that manages our most critical experiments. You'll be designing and developing a modern custom UI and Backend integrated with our commercial Eyelit MES (Manufacturing Execution System) to help our engineers model, track, and execute complex experimental wafer runs. This integration enables flexibility while enabling an MES driven structure with appropriate processing and data collection by operations.

Responsibilities
  • UI/UX Design & Dev: Architect and build a responsive frontend using React or Angular to replace legacy experiment tracking and manual spreadsheets.
  • Backend: Work with Process Engineers to gather requirements, develop Restful APIs, write performant SQL queries
  • Eyelit MES Integration: Work with our systems team to pull and push data via RESTful APIs, ensuring experimental parameters are correctly modeled and stored within the Eyelit environment.
  • Experiment Management Modeling: Create intuitive dashboards for "Split Table" management, allowing engineers to define different process conditions for specific groups of wafers.
  • Knowledge Sharing: You won't code in a vacuum. You'll work closely with Process Engineers and MES Modelers to understand their pain points and then show them how your new tools simplify their work.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with UI/UX Design using React or Angular.
  • Proficiency with C#, Python and SQL
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Strong grasp of Git workflows to collaborate effectively within our engineering and software development team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RESTful API Proficiency: Deep understanding of consuming and documenting APIs to ensure seamless data flow between the frontend and Eyelit MES.
  • Data Transformation: Ability to manipulate complex JSON/XML payloads to map experimental metadata into structured database schemas within Postgres.
  • Experience with component libraries like Material UI, Tailwind CSS, or Bootstrap to ensure a professional, user-first aesthetic.

Benefits

Salary Range : 20 - 25 USD per hour.
