What is an intern summer?

An intern summer position is a temporary work opportunity, typically lasting 8-12 weeks during the summer months, designed for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in their field of study. Summer interns work on real projects, receive mentorship from professionals, and acquire skills that enhance their resumes. These roles are often paid, though some may be unpaid, and can sometimes lead to full-time employment offers after graduation.

What do summer interns do?

As a Summer Intern, you can expect to work on a variety of projects that support the goals of your department. Typical responsibilities may include conducting research, assisting with data analysis, participating in team meetings, and collaborating on group projects. Many interns also gain exposure to real-world business challenges and are encouraged to present their findings or ideas. The work environment is usually supportive, with mentors or supervisors providing guidance to help you develop professional skills and build your network within the organization.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a summer intern?
