What is an intern student teacher?

Intern Student Teachers are individuals, often college or university students, who are gaining practical teaching experience in a classroom setting as part of their teacher education program. They work under the supervision of an experienced teacher to apply educational theories, develop lesson plans, and interact with students. This internship is typically a requirement for earning a teaching credential or degree, and it helps intern student teachers build confidence and skills needed for a full-time teaching career.

What are some typical challenges an intern student teacher might face during their placement, and how can they overcome them?

Intern Student Teachers often encounter challenges such as managing classroom behavior, balancing lesson planning with coursework, and adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles. Building strong relationships with mentor teachers and seeking regular feedback can help address these challenges.
