Job description

AmpThink is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structured Cabling Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will take the lead on installing and maintaining structured cabling systems across a variety of high-profile venues and stadiums. As a Senior Technician, you will also mentor junior technicians and ensure that projects are completed to the highest standards and within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation and termination of copper and fiber optic cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, and multimode fiber.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess cabling needs and prepare reports for project planning.
  • Supervise and train junior cabling technicians, providing direction and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards for cabling installations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues swiftly and efficiently.
  • Document progress and changes to cabling infrastructure throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineering teams to ensure project timelines and quality expectations are met.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in structured cabling installation within commercial or large venue environments.
  • Strong understanding of cabling standards including ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and NEC.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with testing and certification of cabling systems using industry-standard equipment.
  • Knowledge of IP networking and data center infrastructure is a plus.
  • Certifications such as BICSI Installer, Fiber Optic Certification, or similar are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift and move equipment, work in various environments, and perform tasks in adherence to safety protocols.
