Position Summary

The Field Engineer is the primary technical representative on site from system delivery through final commissioning. Reporting to the Director of Design and Engineering, and working in lock-step with Project Managers, you will execute installation plans, verify system functionality, document progress, and train end users. Your hands-on expertise ensures that every system performs to spec and reflects Amplio's standard of excellence.


Responsibilities

Project Preparation & Planning

  • Review integration documents
  • Create detailed programming/commissioning plans
  • Prepare show files and configure equipment at the warehouse

On-Site Execution

  • Generate daily site reports with photos and progress notes
  • Verify end-user workflows and desired functionality align with show file and equipment configurations
  • Upload, verify, and revise pre-configurations for all networked equipment
  • Execute full system QA, troubleshooting issues
  • Approve rack work and overall integration prior to project hand-off

Documentation & Client Handover

  • Maintain accurate redlines and configuration files in the project archive
  • Deliver owner training sessions covering creative workflows, operation, and maintenance
  • Provide weekend or after-hours support as scheduled during critical milestones

Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of hands-on AV system design and programming experience
  • Proficiency with test and configuration equipment
  • Working knowledge of Dante, AVB, PoE networking, and structured cabling best practices
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, one-line schematics, and rack elevations
  • Excellent written/verbal communication; disciplined documentation habits
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Travel Expectations

  • Live near or relocate to Schaumburg, Illinois area
  • Typically working on job sites or at the warehouse
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and work occasional nights/weekends as project demands
  • 50% to 75% travel based on project schedules
