Network Engineer

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Network Engineer to support the delivery, integration, and deployment of complex network and data center technology solutions. This role involves direct interaction with customers, vendors, and technical teams to evaluate requirements, configure systems, manage technical execution, and transition completed solutions into production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Gather technical requirements and translate specifications into build instructions, as-built documentation, and integration workbooks.
  • Execute integration and deployment activities for network and infrastructure solutions based on project specifications and configuration requirements.
  • Drive technical project execution from kickoff through testing, approval, and production transition.
  • Evaluate technical scope and level of effort for network and infrastructure projects.
  • Configure multi-vendor networking, wireless, and collaboration devices.
  • Configure network, storage, and server technologies based on project requirements.
  • Develop project timelines and provide estimates for technical build and execution activities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, training, and knowledge transfer to project teams.
  • Lead collaboration sessions between customers, vendors, and technical stakeholders to develop design solutions.
  • Communicate project status and technical progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project kickoff meetings, peer reviews, and technical readiness activities.
  • Review hardware compatibility requirements, including dimensions, power, airflow, and installation considerations.
  • Validate bills of materials and perform quality checks throughout build and integration activities.
  • Review and manage technical changes in coordination with project teams.
  • Support the development and improvement of work instructions, visual aids, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of network engineering, infrastructure integration, or related technical experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree a big plus
  • Experience planning and coordinating technical resources and activities within defined project schedules.
  • Ability to develop clear technical reference documentation, build instructions, and as-built documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience serving in a technical lead or player-coach capacity, including mentoring and reviewing technical work.
  • Ability to read engineering documentation including rack elevations, cable run lists, and connection schematics for power, networking, and storage.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards and best practices across multiple cable types.
  • Understanding of data center electrical requirements, including kilowatts, amperage, phases, and UPS systems.
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere solution design, setup, and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise server platforms and data center hardware.
  • Experience with platforms such as HPE blade and standalone servers, Cisco UCS B-Series and C-Series, or comparable enterprise infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with LAN, WAN, and data communications technologies.
  • Strong understanding of modern data center and network technologies supporting large enterprise environments.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities, technical demands, and project timelines in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications technologies, including configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of CUCM, SIP, H.323, device registrations, and related collaboration platforms.
