Description
The Copywriter Intern will support the America 250 initiative by creating, editing, and managing written content across multiple platforms, including blogs, social media, newsletters, and web materials. This role is designed to develop professional communication, research, and content strategy skills while engaging with faculty, students, and community participants. Interns will also contribute to seminar preparation and support Summer Scholars programming, gaining hands-on experience in both communications and educational environments.
Examples of Duties
  • Conduct interviews with faculty, students, and conference participants
  • Develop written content including blog posts, social media captions, newsletters, and website copy
  • Edit and proofread materials for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to AP and Chicago style guidelines
  • Ensure all content aligns with institutional branding and messaging standards
  • Assist with project planning and content strategy development
  • Support seminar preparation, including annotating texts and preparing materials
  • Observe and assist in classroom discussions for Summer Scholars programming
  • Serve as a chaperone and role model for Grades 5-12 Summer Scholars participants
  • Utilize digital tools and emerging technologies (including AI) to support content creation
