Job Description:
Broadcom's ASIC Products Division is seeking a Design Automation Software Development Engineer in the Design For Test (DFT) team developing SoC ASIC products. They will define, develop, deploy and support the methodology, design automation software tools and flow used in ASIC development.
This job will involve development, testing and deployment of software products and usage methodology to a world-wide, cutting edge, ASIC DFT technology development and implementation team. These tools are used to support test logic hardware development, synthesis, insertion and integration as well as verification that the logic is implemented correctly. Other tools are used in the generation of the production tests used in manufacturing the ASIC products.
The candidate should have hands-on experience developing and debugging software in a team environment. They must also have an understanding of digital logic design and implementation. The candidate must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills to conquer the demanding and ever changing requirements of the ASIC customer base.
Responsibilities
  • Using Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python or TCL scripting to automate design tool processes
  • Development of complex tools in languages such as C++
  • Debugging tool and design flow related issues for IC designers
  • Providing support/training on tools and methodologies to engineers at multiple geographies
  • Working directly with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues
  • Applying hardware/software skills to create innovative solutions
  • Developing documentation and training on custom flows and internal tools
  • Understanding and deployment of new and evolving DFT architecture solutions

Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, C/C++ in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • Digital Logic Design and Verilog HDL
  • Understanding of programming issues such as OO design, memory leaks, data structures, sorting, recursion, stack overflow and greedy algorithms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
  • Understanding of Scan Test architecture and implementation
  • Experience with Streaming Scan Networks is a plus
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting, digital timing analysis, software development tools and revision control systems

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 2+ years of related experience; or Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is USD 74,000.00 To USD 118,800.00
