What does an Intern SOC Analyst do?

An Intern SOC (Security Operations Center) Analyst assists with monitoring and analyzing an organization's IT infrastructure for security threats and incidents. They typically help identify, investigate, and respond to suspicious activities under the guidance of senior security analysts. Intern SOC Analysts may also participate in routine security checks, document incidents, and learn about security tools and protocols. This role provides hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations and is often an entry point for a career in information security.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Intern SOC Analyst?

To thrive as an Intern SOC Analyst, you need a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, network protocols, and incident response, usually supported by coursework or relevant certifications like CompTIA Security+.
