Job description

Position Overview
The Process Engineer intern will be directly involved in special projects designed to improve process efficiency and productivity. He or she will be working with the Production Superintendents, Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager, and Process Engineers.
Responsibilities
• The types of projects the intern can expect to be involved in include:
• Process improvement, cost reduction, and optimization opportunities
• Chemical trials designed to increase quality and productivity
• Equipment start-up and optimization
• Statistical analysis of the finished product properties
• Involvement with customers regarding special trials or quality issues
Qualifications
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, Forestry, Industrial Technology, and Accounting
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and statistical software
• Strong team player who can effectively work with others to meet objectives and timelines
