Job description

Description:

PCG Consulting Group International partners with organizations that demand excellence, accountability, and delivery. Our consultants are trusted advisors who work as true extensions of our clients' teams, helping deliver enterprise technology solutions that improve business operations and customer experiences.

PCG is seeking an experienced Salesforce QA Engineer to support a large-scale Salesforce initiative within a healthcare/public-sector environment.

This role will be responsible for validating Salesforce functionality across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow, integrations, and custom Apex-based solutions.

The ideal candidate is more than a general QA tester. We are looking for someone with direct experience testing Salesforce applications who understands how Salesforce functionality behaves across different users, profiles, permission structures, environments, integrations, and business processes.

This individual will work closely with Salesforce Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other QA professionals throughout the Agile development lifecycle to ensure solutions meet functional requirements and are ready for production.

What You’ll Do
Salesforce Functional Testing
  • Develop and execute detailed test cases based on user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing of Salesforce solutions.
  • Test functionality across Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud.
  • Validate custom functionality developed using Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex, Salesforce Flow, and configuration tools.
  • Test case-management workflows, business rules, screen flows, record-triggered automation, validation rules, and approval processes.
  • Validate positive, negative, boundary, and exception scenarios.
Experience Cloud & Security Testing
  • Test Experience Cloud portals and external-user functionality.
  • Validate authentication, user access, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and role-based access.
  • Ensure internal and external users have appropriate visibility into Salesforce data and functionality.
  • Identify security or access-related defects before production deployment.
Integration & Data Testing
  • Validate Salesforce integrations with external applications and APIs.
  • Perform REST/SOAP API and integration testing as needed.
  • Verify data mappings, transformations, field-level accuracy, and synchronization between Salesforce and external systems.
  • Test error handling and integration failure scenarios.
  • Perform backend validation using SOQL where appropriate.
Agile QA Delivery
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Review user stories and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios before development is completed.
  • Partner closely with Salesforce Developers to identify and resolve defects.
  • Support SIT and UAT, including defect triage and retesting.
  • Document defects clearly with reproducible steps, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence.
  • Track defects through resolution and validate fixes.
Regression & Release Testing
  • Develop and maintain regression test suites for Salesforce releases.
  • Perform regression testing following new development, enhancements, configuration changes, and deployments.
  • Validate functionality across DEV, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Support release-readiness activities and post-deployment validation.
  • Identify potential production risks before release.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who understands how to break a Salesforce solution, not simply confirm that the happy path works. The successful candidate should be comfortable questioning requirements, identifying edge cases, validating complex Salesforce automation, testing multiple user personas, troubleshooting defects with developers, and ensuring functionality is truly ready for UAT and production.

This person should be able to work independently while collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and client stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of QA/testing experience, with significant hands-on Salesforce testing experience.
  • Strong experience testing:
    • Salesforce Service Cloud
    • Salesforce Experience Cloud
    • Lightning Web Components (LWC)
    • Salesforce Flow
    • Custom Salesforce functionality
  • Experience developing test scenarios and test cases from user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce objects, relationships, fields, record types, validation rules, workflows, and automation.
  • Experience testing Salesforce security, including:
    • Profiles
    • Permission Sets
    • Roles
    • Sharing Rules
    • Field-Level Security
  • Experience with SIT, UAT, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience testing REST/SOAP APIs and system integrations.
  • Working knowledge of SOQL for backend/data validation.
  • Strong defect-management and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce Administrator or other Salesforce certification.
  • Experience with automated Salesforce testing.
  • Experience with tools such as Selenium, Provar, Copado Robotic Testing, AccelQ, or similar automation platforms.
  • Experience with Postman or similar API-testing tools.
  • Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or comparable Agile/defect-management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CI/CD and release processes.
  • Experience working alongside Salesforce development teams using Git, Copado, Gearset, Salesforce DX, or similar deployment tools.
  • Healthcare or public-sector Salesforce experience.
  • Experience testing applications involving sensitive or regulated data.
