Job description

Surgery Department (OR/CVOR; Operating Room) Registered Nurse (RN)
$10,000 Sign On Bonus!*
We are looking for nurses with a passion for Surgical Nursing and Patient Advocacy. Our Baxter Health OR/CVOR has 13 operating rooms and averages 650 cases per month. Our cases include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurological, Cardiovascular, Plastics, Ear Nose Throat (ENT), Urology and Gynecological (GYN) procedures. We have a highly skilled, dedicated team of patient advocates that work in an interdisciplinary team environment. New employees progress through an extensive orientation that uses the Association of Peri-operative Registered Nurses (AORN) Standards to guide our practice. All new nurses complete the AORN Peri-op 101 course, provided by the hospital, during the first six months of employment. One (1) year of AORN membership is also provided. All staff is encouraged to become active on our Unit Based Council to enable them to impact their own nursing practice and participate in our Magnet Journey to Excellence. Position Highlights:
  • Education Opportunities: Continue to advance you and your families' education, utilizing Baxter Health Foundation Scholarships and certification support.
  • Technology: Davinci Surgical Robot; Navigational Spinal and ENT surgery; Hybrid OR for advanced vascular procedures, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care for assigned patients on the nursing unit and providing leadership within the nursing team.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served, through the model of Shared Governance.
  • Collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidence based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

Job Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required. BSN Preferred.
  • Licensure: Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred.
  • BLS required. ACLS and PALS are encouraged, but not required.
  • Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required.
