Job description
An award-winning local news station has a great opportunity for you! We are looking for an intern. Qualified candidates should also be planning and preparing for a job in news. We are looking for highly motivated, dedicated students who are looking to get the most out of their internship experience. You must be eligible to receive college credit to participate in this internship and be at least 18 years of age. This internship is paid. Credit Verification forms will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist reporters and producers with research, writing, and fact-checking.
Support production of broadcast and digital content, including editing and media organization.
Observe and learn from newsroom operations and live shoots.
Contribute to story ideas and coverage planning.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn.
- Basic familiarity with social media and digital content a plus.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a degree program focused on broadcast journalism preferred.
- Highly motivated to learn all facets of a broadcast news station.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements / ADA Compliance:
- Ability to sit, stand, and travel for shoots as needed.
- Able to lift and carry light equipment (up to 25 lbs).
