Overview
The Finance Analyst provides financial planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting support for a complex technical program. This position supports budget management, cost tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting in an environment that will include earned value management and Deltek Costpoint. The Finance Manager works with program management, project controls, accounting, contracts, and operational leads to help ensure accurate financial visibility, disciplined cost control, and timely reporting. This role supports day-to-day financial management activities and contributes to the overall financial health and performance of the program.
THIS HYBRID POSITION REQUIRES 3 DAYS OF WORK IN THE OFFICE AND 2 DAYS REMOTE PER WEEK
Responsibilities
  • Support financial management activities for a complex program, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Monitor program financial performance against budget, funding, forecast, and actual cost data.
  • Support earned value management-related cost tracking and performance reporting, as applicable.
  • Utilize Deltek Costpoint to support financial data collection, reporting, reconciliation, and analysis.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports for program and corporate leadership.
  • Analyze cost variances, spending trends, burn rates, and forecast changes and provide recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate with program managers, control account managers, schedulers, accounting, and contracts personnel to support integrated financial management.
  • Assist with estimate to complete and estimate at completion updates.
  • Track labor, material, travel, subcontract, and other direct cost elements.
  • Support financial close activities, accruals, reporting cycles, and reconciliation efforts.
  • Monitor funding status and assist in identifying potential funding shortfalls or overrun conditions.
  • Help ensure program financial data is complete, accurate, and aligned with contract and internal reporting requirements.
  • Support audits, reviews, and data calls related to program financial performance.
  • Contribute to process improvements in financial reporting, tracking, and analysis.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of related work experience
  • Experience in reporting, reconciliation and analysis utilizing DELTEK COSTPOINT
  • Active Secret Clearance

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $140,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
