Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical Financial Analyst to join our corporate finance team. King Risk Partners is experiencing rapid expansion through both organic initiatives and an aggressive mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy.

In this remote role, the Financial Analyst will serve as a core contributor to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function. The position entails managing complex financial models, overseeing corporate budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing analytical support for the Executive team and Regional Business Partners. The ideal candidate has direct experience working with private equity-backed companies, thrives in high-growth, fast-paced environments, possesses elite data management skills, and experience with corporate planning tools and M&A financial mechanics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Build, maintain, and scale financial models to support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range strategic planning.
  • Corporate Planning Systems: Administer and optimize our financial planning software (e.g., Workday Adaptive Planning), ensuring data integrity, streamlined reporting structures, and aligned actuals-to-budget workflows.
  • M&A and Valuation Support: Review financial data from acquisition targets to evaluate run-rate performance and verify historical data structures.
  • Quality of Earnings (QoE) Tracking: Analyze and trace Quality of Earnings (QoE) adjustments, identifying pro forma adjustments, non-recurring expenses, and post-acquisition synergies to reflect true economic performance.
  • Data Visualization & Analytics: Design, implement, and automate interactive executive dashboards and operational KPI reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Variance & Performance Reporting: Perform monthly and quarterly financial variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast), delivering actionable commentary to leadership and private equity stakeholders regarding key business drivers.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, financial analyst roles, or transaction advisory services. Experience in a private equity-backed corporate setting or a highly acquisitive environment is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Technical Skills:
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, financial modeling architecture, large data set manipulation).
  • Experience maintaining robust reporting models in Excel while longer-term systems are optimized.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing Workday Adaptive Planning (or equivalent enterprise corporate planning solutions).
  • Familiarity with data visualization suites (Power BI or Tableau).
  • Functional Competencies:
  • Strong conceptual understanding of transaction financial mechanics, including EBITDA adjustments, non-recurring add-backs, and QoE reporting workflows.
  • Familiarity with the insurance agency sector, brokerage metrics (e.g., commission structures, retention rates, organic growth), or general recurring-revenue models is highly advantageous.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities, with a proven ability to distill complex data into clear strategic narratives for executive and investor audiences; comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote framework.
