Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Industry: Aerospace / Defense Manufacturing

On-site Location: Stafford, VA

Relocation Provided: No

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000

Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a clearance.

Job Overview:

Seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support quality assurance initiatives for advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

The Quality Control Inspector will play a critical role in maintaining product integrity, supporting supplier quality efforts, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in QC, preferably in the aerospace/defense industry
  • Experience using metrology and inspection equipment, inspecting things such as:
    • electro-mechanical assemblies
    • Ex PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies)
    • cable assemblies
    • machined components and composite materials
  • Functional understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% as needed
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Quality team in maintaining and improving quality control systems and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace and manufacturing quality standards
  • Perform inspections on electro-mechanical assemblies, PCBAs, cable assemblies, machined components, and composite materials
  • Utilize metrology tools and inspection equipment to verify dimensional and functional conformance
  • Maintain inspection records, testing documentation, and quality reports
  • Generate nonconformance reports and support corrective action activities
  • Present findings to Material Review Boards (MRBs) when required
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality requirements
  • Support Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), supplier audits, and supplier quality initiatives
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on quality and operational excellence
