What is the Opportunity?

The RBC's CBT (Commercial Banking Team) offers the opportunity to leverage our epiX mega-journey transformation program to develop innovative solutions to our most challenging problems for RBC's commercial banking customers. We hire people with a broad set of technical skills who are ready to take on tough challenges and make an impact to millions of Canadians and businesses every day.

The QE Data Analyst is responsible for creating, testing and preparing quality test data for projects within journeys. Test data setup is required for PIV, SIT on demand basis. He/she follows RBC's standard methodology for data governance in line with the existing process.

Be a major contributor towards the success of Post-implementation verification and be a support pillar for all test data needs. The person should be capable and willing to create and deliver data in short notice and on time. He/she works collaboratively with several IT and Business teams to estimate, prepare, plan and coordinate with other teams to meet the project milestones.

Liaising with the other development team members, he/she participates to work and embrace engineering principles, identifying and using modern tools, optimizing data preparation and execution through technics and automation script support.

  • Delivering new design and development specifications based on customer requirements, while adhering to standard procedures and techniques.

  • Creating test transactions and running tests to find errors and revise application programs.

  • Participating in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes; continually working to create a learning environment by sharing about the participation process with others.

  • Supporting the implementation of application programs; fixing any existing or new bugs.

What will you do?

  • Work closely with development teams and assist with all data needs and requirements

  • Manage the defined Production Account for Testing (PAT) processes to ensure all standards and compliances are met, which includes data governance and maintenance.

  • Lead all PIV/SIT data activities and report on progress, includingmonitoring, assisting with reconciliation activities

  • Based on the schedule and sequence of testing activities, negotiate and coordinate End-to-End data needs with interfacing applications and attend PIV meetings for support

  • Strong communicator - able to work closely with counterparts in a cross-functional teams. Ability to lead medium-complex data requirements for projects

  • Oversee PAT execution progress, communicate daily metrics report and weekly dashboard to the stakeholders. Provide test data, and support to Performance testing

  • Conduct risk analysis, data requirement review ensuring sufficient coverage in respect of project constraints and driving factors.

  • Facilitate complex group meetings and conduct information gathering sessions with groups across IT and Business

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a QE/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (distributed, cloud and mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, databases

  • 2+ years experience with Python and Robot framework

  • Hands-on expertise in creation of test data in banking and financial services industry ands-on experience in test case design at different levels (component/service, integration, and end to end/user scenarios).

  • Working knowledge on APIs, Mainframes, database

  • Experience working with software delivery methodologies, frameworks and best practices having worked in agile teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of a variety of testing techniques and methodologies - Ability to recommend and demonstrate new tools having engineering mindset and aptitude for continuous learning.

  • Working knowledge with the usage of confluence, JIRA, JIRA Service Desk

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in development/coding with Ruby, Groovy, Spring boot, Cypress

  • Code inspection tool knowledge/working experience

  • Prior RBC working experience with core channels and products

  • Knowledge on DevOps pipeline and integration of testing in the pipeline.

  • Experience using test optimization and performance monitoring tools - ConfirmIQ, Dynatrace
