Data Analyst โ€“ Construction (1862)

Contract opportunity based in Woodbridge, Ontario

We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Specialist with a strong background in the construction industry to help transform complex project and operational data into clear, actionable insights. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with business acumen and enjoys building dashboards, integrating data sources, and supporting data-driven decision-making.

Contract Details

  • 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension
  • 40 hours per week
  • Work schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Location: Woodbridge, Ontario
  • Hybrid work model: onsite 5 days per week for the first month, then 3 days per week thereafter

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI
  • Use DAX to build advanced calculations, measures, and data models that support meaningful business insights
  • Analyze large and complex data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across construction projects and operations
  • Integrate and work with data from multiple systems, including APIs and construction-related platforms
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into practical reporting and analytics solutions
  • Support data quality, consistency, and reporting best practices across the organization
  • Leverage modern analytics and AI-enabled tools to improve reporting efficiency and insight generation

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics
  • Strong expertise in Power BI, including dashboard development and data visualization best practices
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating data from multiple sources
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to present insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in the construction, architecture, or commercial building sector
  • Familiarity with construction technology platforms such as Procore, Autodesk, and Sage
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and BIM 19650 standards
  • Exposure to AI tools that support analytics, automation, or reporting workflows
