Job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated Product Development Intern to join our team, supporting new product development and continuous improvement initiatives for cleanroom wipes that are used in critical contamination environments such as pharmaceutical and biomedical device manufacturing. As an intern, you'll dive into the world of product development, gaining hands-on experience with product development and commercialization at our Chicopee, MA site. The successful candidate will learn how to build and interpret product engineering bills of materials, and support product quality change processes
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain engineering bills of materials (BOMs), while coordinating with Production to ensure accurate documentation
  • Refine material specifications with input from Quality, Production & Purchasing
  • Communicate with 3rd party testing labs for new product development testing
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes
  • Improve sample library, identifying and organizing materials
  • Support cost optimization projects without compromising product quality, safety, or performance
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Attend material sourcing meetings alongside the Product Development Manager
  • Assist with additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Product Development Manager
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Currently enrolled or recently graduated from Textiles, Material Science, or Polymer Science program
Academic Standing
Minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent)
Technical Aptitude
Basic understanding of nonwoven/textile materials manufacturing (coursework acceptable)
Knowledge of or experience with material characterization techniques
Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word and Teams preferred
Communication
Clear written and verbal skills for documenting findings and the ability to work across functions and with external partners
Safety Awareness
Ability to follow site safety protocols
