What is the opportunity?

Are you interested in the opportunity to work as a Risk Analyst Student Intern at RBC? By applying to this job posting, you will be considered for multiple roles available across RBC Group Risk Management.

What will you do?

  • Fulfill on key operational risk management activities in the 1LOD Business Unit Operational Risk Management (BUORM) team, including but not limited to
  • Support to updating the ORM program records in Archer and validating job aid/desktop procedures
  • Support the change initiative risk assessment review to ensure risk register reference linkage are documented
  • Serve as a central point of contact to summarize and monitor 2LOD oversight requests, build mechanism to monitor policy adherence breaches and follow-up for resolution as necessary
  • Support to manage and monitor IT findings and Maverick findings centrally
  • Establish Ops risk related communication (portal and template) to help provide timely communications to the broader GRM stakeholders in each risk area
  • Build a plan for ops risk training, develop training material and potentially facilitate workshops to provide education and awareness for stakeholders on designated risk areas
  • Support the BUORM while continually looking for opportunities to increase operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Identify and recommend changes and ideas to support process simplification efforts.
  • Utilize the latest technologies available, designing and building data solutions to meet business needs and achieve efficiencies
  • Work on transformational projects delivering new value

Must-have

  • Experience in risk and control management, review, reporting and analysis of multiple data points.
  • Proficient/Advanced in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel - intermediate, PowerPoint).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem solvers that are continually looking for opportunities to streamline and increase operational efficiency.
  • Adaptability, including high capacity to learn, pivot when required, working with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
