BUSINESS INTERN

ABOUT MLBPI

MLB Players, Inc. (MLBPI) is the for-profit corporate subsidiary of the Major League Baseball Players Association, responsible for managing all commercial activities on behalf of the Players. MLBPI brings to market products and services that feature the publicity rights (name, image, and likeness) of MLB Players. With 100+ partners worldwide, MLBPI secures licensing and sponsorship agreements to ensure Player-driven products are central to the fan experience. Our business spans licensing, sponsorship, media, events, and more, working with best-in-class partners who feature and promote Players across platforms.


OVERVIEW

We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Business Intern to support our Partnerships & Business Development teams. This role is ideal for recent college graduates interested in hands-on experience in sports business, partnerships and business development.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Partnerships

  • Conduct research on MLB player sponsorship activity, trends, and social performance.
  • Assist with sales narratives by building PowerPoint decks and creating player-led storytelling slides.
  • Support player marketing highlight reels by compiling brand activity and social media engagement.



Player Marketing

  • Circulate clearance notices to agents to ensure Players do not have conflicts with sponsor activation programs.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team as needed, reviewing and approving licensee artwork and marketing material submissions.
  • Support player visits to the office, including logistics coordination, agent communication, and onโ€‘site support.





Diamond Access

  • Support sales pipeline for player rewards program.
  • Conduct outreach to brand partners, maintain CRM, prepare materials as needed.


Business Development

  • Support prospecting efforts by identifying and researching potential companies and partners, and preparing clear summaries for the business development team.
  • Assist with evaluating new opportunities by reviewing company information and market context.


Licensing

  • Support the Quality Assurance team as needed, reviewing and approving licensee artwork and marketing material submissions.
  • Contribute to special projects, prepare license presentations, and other ad-hoc assignments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong Spanish language skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish.
  • Recent college graduate with a record of excellent academic achievement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills.
  • A passion and understanding of everything baseball, especially MLB players.
  • Strong writing skills, excellent communicator, team-player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Salary: $20.00 per hour for BA Graduates and $30.00 per hour for MBA Graduates

Duration: 6 Months
