Job description

About Edina Plastic Surgery

At Edina Plastic Surgery, we exist to transform lives by elevating confidence in our patients. Every consultation, every call, and every visit is an opportunity to help someone feel more empowered, more comfortable in their skin, and more aligned with the best version of themselves. This purpose fuels everything we do—from the care we provide to the culture we create. When you join our team, you’re not just answering phones or scheduling appointments. You’re part of something bigger: helping people reclaim their confidence and rediscover joy in how they see themselves. That mission is the heart of who we are—and we carry it into every patient interaction, every single day.

At United Aesthetics Alliance (UAA), we are dedicated to empowering our medical professionals and staff at leading plastic surgery practices and med spas nationwide. We believe that when people feel confident in their own skin, they’re free to live with purpose. As a rapidly growing medical aesthetics company, we are building a best-in-class portfolio through exceptional partnerships, innovative services, and a culture rooted in excellence.

About the Role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays an essential role in supporting our surgeons and ensuring every patient receives an exceptional experience at every visit — from consultation to post-operative care. This position requires excellent communication skills, clinical accuracy, empathy, and a passion for helping patients feel confident and cared for.

You’ll assist our surgeons and providers with all aspects of patient care, help maintain the clinical flow of our busy practice, and uphold our high standards of safety and excellence.

What You’ll Do

Patient Care and Clinical Support

  • Greet, room, and prepare patients for their visits with our surgeons and advanced practice providers.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and pertinent information in the EMR.
  • Assist with minor in-office procedures and post-operative appointments.
  • Educate patients on procedure details, surgical prep, recovery expectations, and care instructions.
  • Support patients with trying on breast implant sizers and reviewing before/after photos.
  • Capture and upload 3D Vectra XT images for surgical consultations (breast, rhinoplasty, etc.).
  • Take standardized pre- and post-operative photographs for patient records.
  • Perform dressing changes, suture removals, drain and catheter removals as directed by the surgeon.
  • Perform ear piercings for post-surgical patients when requested.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and comfort throughout every interaction.

Clinical Operations and Workflow

  • Maintain exam room cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout the day.
  • Sterilize, package, and track instruments in compliance with infection control standards.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of medical supplies, medications, and instruments.
  • Handle patient calls, portal messages, and emails related to post-op care and clinical questions.
  • Process FMLA and disability paperwork for physician completion and patient communication.
  • Manage patient consents and track approvals for before/after photo sharing.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, RNs, and other CMAs to ensure efficient daily clinic flow.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and patient experiences.

Team Engagement and Professional Development

  • Attend team huddles, staff meetings, and continuing education sessions as scheduled.
  • Maintain current clinical certifications and participate in annual competency reviews.
  • Support new team members and contribute to a positive, respectful workplace culture.
  • Represent the values and vision of Edina Plastic Surgery at all times.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience required; plastic surgery, dermatology, or aesthetic medicine preferred.

Licensure and Certification

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential required.
  • Current Minnesota State Certification as a LPN.
  • Current BLS/CPR Certification.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You Are...

  • Patient-Centered: Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and active listening with every patient.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ensures accuracy in clinical documentation and patient care processes.
  • Collaborative: Works harmoniously within a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Maintains professionalism and grace during busy clinic days.
  • Professionalism: Exhibits integrity, confidentiality, and respect in all interactions.
  • Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment with changing needs.

Why Work with Us?

At Edina Plastic Surgery, you’ll be part of a team that shows up every day with purpose and heart. We don’t just work here, we believe in what we do.
