Job description

Position Overview:
Join a dedicated team as a locum tenens Plastic Surgeon in the vibrant central Pennsylvania area. This opportunity allows you to bring your expertise to a dynamic environment with a focus on both clinical work and surgical duties.

Assignment Highlights:

  • Start Date: November 12, 2024
  • End Date: March 30, 2025
  • Setting: Primarily outpatient with scheduled clinical hours, plus in-house call coverage
  • Specialties: General plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, craniofacial surgery, breast surgery, hand/wrist surgery, abdominoplasty, burn-related surgery, and more

Role Responsibilities:

  • Handle a balanced caseload of cosmetic and trauma-related surgeries (1:1 ratio).
  • Manage various types of plastic surgeries, including:
    • Cranial and Facial Surgery: Facial implants, maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, cleft lip/palate repair, etc.
    • Breast Surgery: Augmentation, reduction mammoplasty, oncologic surgery, and reconstruction.
    • Hand/Wrist Surgery: Tendon and nerve repair, digit reimplantation, and reconstructive procedures.
    • Other Surgical Skills: Abdominoplasty, laser surgery, genitourinary reconstruction, microsurgery.
  • Patient Care: Admissions required, alongside rounding on assigned patients.

Requirements:

  • Board Certification: Required, must be board eligible in Plastic Surgery.
  • Certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS.
  • Licensing: Must hold an active Pennsylvania medical license.
  • Experience: Fellowship-trained, with expertise in both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Proficiency in Epic is essential for seamless patient documentation.

Support Structure:

  • Collaborative support from RNs, MAs, and other office staff.
  • No requirement for supervising advanced practice providers or residents.

Credentialing and Onboarding:

  • Credentialing Timeline: Estimated 90-120 days.
  • Privileges: Permanent privileges required; temporary privileges not offered.
