Job Summary

The OR Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The OR Nurse works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety, maintain sterile technique, and support efficient surgical operations. 


Schedule: Every other Monday and every Thursday from 7am-5pm


Essential Functions:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluation patient care throughout the surgical experience. 
  • Verify patient identity, surgical consent, procedure details, and site marking according to established protocols. 
  • Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures. 
  • Maintain a safe and sterile operation room environment. 
  • Prepare operating rooms before procedures and ensure proper turnover between cases. 
  • Maintain inventory of surgical supplies, instruments, implants, and medications. 
  • Accurately document all aspects of perioperative care in EMR. 
  • Monitor postoperative recovery as assigned. 
  • Provide patient and family education regarding postoperative care and discharge instructions. 
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and clinical training. 



Requirements

 Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing. 
  • Current BLS certification required. 
  • CNOR certification preferred. 
  • ACLS certification required. 
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of operating room nursing experience preferred. 
  • Experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, ambulatory surgery, or outpatient surgical settings strongly preferred. 
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced surgical environment. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures. 
  • Ability to lift, move, and position patients with assistance as needed. 
  • Ability to push, pull and transport equipment and supplies.
