Job Description:
  • We are looking for a passionate and motivated Software Engineer Intern, currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technology field, to join our development team.
  • As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside senior engineers on real software projects-contributing to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications while building your skills in a collaborative, professional environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications using modern frameworks, under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Participate in code reviews and team knowledge-sharing sessions to learn best practices
  • Collaborate with team members, QA engineers, UI/UX designers, and product managers on assigned project work
  • Work with fellow developers to help ensure code quality and consistency
  • Help troubleshoot and debug issues in non-production environments
  • Complete a meaningful internship project or contribution that can be presented to the team at the end of the program
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field (must be returning to school after the internship, or graduating within the following academic year)
  • Having experience with GenAI tools like Claude Code and/or Cursor for development activities is essential. Norstella, similar with other organizations, is strongly moving towards code generation using GenAI models.
  • Exposure to designing or consuming RESTful APIs through coursework, personal projects, or prior internship experience
  • Familiarity with at least one modern programming language such as JavaScript (NodeJS), C#, Java, or Python
  • Introductory exposure to a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) through coursework, labs, certifications, or personal projects is a plus
  • Awareness of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) is a plus
  • Basic understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB is a plus
  • Exposure to version control with Git/GitHub is required; familiarity with CI/CD concepts, Terraform, or cloud DevOps tooling is a plus
Tech-Stack:
  • Foundational technologies of the web: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (familiarity with JS frameworks and libraries such as ReactJS is a plus)
  • Modern programming languages such as JavaScript (NodeJS), C#, Java, or Python
  • Exposure to or interest in learning cloud technology and various services:
  • AWS: S3, API Gateway, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, CosmosDB, ECS, CloudWatch, DocumentDB.
  • Azure: Blob Storage, API Management, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Dapper.
  • Interest in learning DevOps tooling - Terraform, Serverless, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Front Door, CI/CD in Azure DevOps, Security groups, auto scaling, Git/GitHub, Monitoring, Log Analytics.
  • Introductory familiarity with RESTful APIs and API security concepts.

Salary: $ 24 per hour.
