Job description

Purpose:

The Senior Associate -Solutions Development Specialist will support Athene's Pension Group Annuities (PGA) platform, focusing on the origination, structuring, and positioning of insurance-based solutions for pension plan sponsors.
The role sits within the PGA Solutions Development team and works closely with Athene Corporate Development, New Markets, and select Apollo teams (e.g., FIG, Private Credit, High Grade Capital Solutions) to originate and execute strategic opportunities aligned with Athene's insurance offerings.
In addition, the role will play a key part in identifying, developing, and bringing new pension and balance sheet solutions to market, expanding Athene's solution set in response to evolving sponsor needs.


Accountabilities:

  • Originate opportunities and support bespoke pension risk transfer and balance sheet solutions for large pension plan sponsors
  • Develop creative de-risking strategies for:
    • U.S. corporate defined benefit pension plans
    • Public sector pension plans
    • International pension markets (e.g., Japan and the UK)
  • Incubate, test, and bring new pension solutions to market, from concept development through execution, supported by market analysis, competitive positioning, and go-to-market narratives
  • Assist with transaction structuring, pricing support, and internal approval processes for large and complex pension group annuity transactions
  • Collaborate with Apollo to originate corporate pipeline by leveraging their sponsor and advisor relationships to identify opportunities for differentiated Athene solutions
  • Lead development of high-impact presentations and written materials to socialize, position, and explain solutions with senior leadership, clients, and advisors


Qualifications and Experience:

Core Capabilities

  • Exceptional presentation, storytelling, and communication skills (visual and written)
  • Strong financial and analytical foundation, with the ability to synthesize information and explain trade-offs clearly
  • Comfort managing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented insurance environment

Experience & Background

  • Bachelor's degree required; finance, economics, math, or related background preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in corporate development, strategy, management consulting, investment banking, or other transaction-oriented roles
  • Pension or broader insurance industry experience strongly preferred

  • Willingness to travel (~10%)
  • High standards of professionalism, discretion, and execution excellence

$133,472.80 - $200,209.20 USD Annual


Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
