JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Network Engineer leads the architecture, configuration, and operational integrity of the enterprise network across wired, wireless, virtual, perimeter, and interโ€‘site connectivity. The role oversees network configurations, baselines, routing, segmentation, and core services, coordinating with service providers to plan changes, manage maintenance windows, and address outages. In partnership with the Information Security Analyst, the engineer implements and operates network securityโ€”maintaining firewall policies, managing onโ€‘prem and hybridโ€‘cloud perimeter controls, and enforcing approved security protocols across all network components and segments. The position also drives performance monitoring, incident response, siteโ€‘level readiness (IDFs, wireless, structured cabling), and delivery of network programs and projects, while upholding organizational standards for change management, documentation, compliance, and crossโ€‘functional operational support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Leads enterprise network architecture and design across wired, wireless, virtual, perimeter, and interโ€‘site connectivity to meet current and future business growth; defines future architectures, capacity and availability targets, and a clear implementation roadmap.
  2. Oversees network configurations, baselines, and core services (e.g., IP addressing, VLANs, naming conventions, DNS/DHCP), including routing and segmentation design; coordinates with vendors and ISPs on change execution, maintenance windows, outage notifications, and escalations; implements configuration management practices and leverages automation/scripting to increase consistency, accuracy, and delivery speed.
  3. Partners with Information Security Analysts and IT leadership to implement and operationalize network security, including maintaining firewall policies, managing on-premises and hybrid cloud perimeter controls, and enforcing approved security protocols across all network components and segments.
  4. Oversees network operations and performance by implementing real-time monitoring tools, analyzing trends, and proactively optimizing for stability, resilience, and user experience.
  5. Leads incident response and problem management for network services, performing advanced diagnostics across LAN, WAN, wireless, circuits, and remote access; coordinates with vendors as needed and drives root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
  6. Owns site-level physical network environments, ensuring sound design and proper maintenance of telecom rooms/IDFs, data center cabinets, and structured cabling systems. Partners with wireless vendors to conduct connectivity assessments and site surveys, and collaborates with low-voltage vendors on cabling installations, troubleshooting, network expansions, and building design or remodel projects to ensure site readiness and reliable, scalable connectivity.
  7. Leads all network projects, including deployments, upgrades, technology refreshes, capacity expansions, and security modernization initiatives.
  8. Maintains strict adherence to IT change management, audit, project management, and documentation standards to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  9. Provides cross-functional IT support, contributing to system administration, technical operations, and end-user support as needed.
  10. Maintains strict adherence to scheduled work hours with regular and reliable attendance.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
  2. Minimum of four years of relevant experience managing enterprise networks, firewalls, LAN, WAN, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
  3. Preferred competencies in the following technologies:
  • Meraki/Cisco routers, switches, wireless access points
  • Fortigate Firewall and threat management systems
  • SDWAN, SASE, ZTNA technologies
  • Management of DNS and DHCP systems.
  • Management of VMware VSwitch technology
  • VOIP Telephony Systems
  • Management of fiber and copper networking plant and interconnects
