Position Title

Advanced Network Engineer

Position Classification

Exempt

Position Type

This position may be full-time or part-time and is scheduled to work standard business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime is not expected for this role.

Position Description

The Advanced Network Engineer is responsible for conducting deep packet analysis, designing and implementing complex networks, and providing cybersecurity hardening for network infrastructures. The individual develops traffic profiles, conducts root cause analysis, and provides network efficiency recommendations. This role requires extensive networking expertise, multiple certifications, and the ability to work with both tactical and enterprise environments.

Essential Position Functions

  • Documented advanced network training and 7+ years of demonstrated network engineering experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DOD IAT Level 2 security certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate.
  • Certified in Wireshark Certified Network Analyst or RCPE Professional Packet Analyzer Plus.
  • Experience with VMware (vCloud).
  • Experience with Data Storage technologies.
  • Experience with System Administration of MS Windows Server or Linux.
  • Experience with Security Boundary Technologies e.g., firewalls and IDS/IPS.
  • Experience with Network Modeling applications/tools (ex: GNS3).
  • Experience with a Scripting Language (ex: Perl, Python, PowerShell, Linux Shell, etc.).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology, or equivalent operational experience (desired).
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional or Cisco Certified Design Professional (Route/Switch) (desired).
  • VMware Certified Professional Cloud Specialist (desired).
  • Certification in a Network Operating System (ex: MS Windows Server, Linux, etc.) (desired).
  • Certification in IPv6 (desired).
  • Other duties as assigned
